The Burger King employee who went viral in 2022 after his management gave him a low-cost gift bag for his work anniversary has now launched a new venture.

Two years ago, Kevin Ford marked his 27th anniversary at the chain, but the celebration was underwhelming to say the least. A video of him opening the modest gift quickly went viral, prompting his daughter to start a GoFundMe campaign that raised hundreds of thousands of dollars.

With the funds, Ford was able to start a food truck business called K27Y, named after his viral moment. According to TMZ, he used the GoFundMe donations to buy a $20,000 truck trailer from China, which came equipped with a full kitchen, including an oven and fryer.

Ford invited his daughter to partner with him on this new venture, and they’re starting with a simple menu featuring hamburgers and hot dogs. They plan to have the food truck operational by October, parked at a local Home Depot, just in time for his 30th anniversary at the Las Vegas airport Burger King next May. Ford also hopes to expand the menu to include Filipino dishes, inspired by his fiancée’s heritage.

In addition to the food truck, Ford used some of the GoFundMe money to purchase a home in Nevada earlier this year for $177,000.
