Layla Taylor of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives is opening up about her eating disorder relapse in a candid social media post.
As a cast member of the reality TV hit, Taylor has been explicit about a range of issues she’s faced both on and off screen, but her GLP-1 use had not been a central focus ahead of the show’s most recent season.
“For the past two years, I’ve been struggling silently with an eating disorder I believed I had left behind in high school,” she wrote on March 15. “Far before I touched glps I’ve had my struggles. It’s been lonely and exhausting, fighting a battle in my own brain while trying to show up like everything is okay and recieve comments daily on my body.”
Taylor revealed that she is “in treatment and no longer on the medication,” a comment that comes as Season 4 of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives has brought renewed attention to her story.
Although she isn’t one of the main faces featured on the Hulu hit, Taylor has faced personal challenges off screen. Earlier this year, she confirmed her breakup with Mason McWhorter in a TikTok video, calling the split “still super fresh” and adding that there was “no bad blood” between them. She explained that the two were on different paths and that he felt he needed to be on his own to grow.
Before McWhorter, Taylor was married to Clayton Wessell, with whom she shares two children.
