‘Secret Lives of Mormon Wives’ Star Jessi Explains NSFW Meaning of Demi Engemann’s ‘Fruity Pebbles’

Jessi alleges the innuendo pointed to a urine-related act between Demi and her husband.

The feud between The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives stars Jessi Ngatikaura and Demi Engemann has intensified as Ngatikaura publicly claimed what she says is the real meaning behind Engemann’s infamous "Fruity Pebbles" story.

According to Page Six, Jessi wrote in a since-expired Instagram Story, "Since she wants to be petty and be an asshole, I think I am just going to go ahead and say that grandpa Bret likes to drink her piss like it is dirty soda," presenting this as the long-teased explanation of Demi's Season 1 innuendo about her sex life with husband Bret Engemann.

The outlet also shared that Demi responded on her own Stories, saying, "What my husband and I did one-time behind closed doors, was a consensual and private experience in our marriage. I won't let a private act between my husband and I be a distraction from a serious act that I did not consent to."

She also wrote, "I shared this information with Jessi in confidence nearly two years ago. It's very telling that she's choosing to break storyline and bring it up now, only after her own affair has come to light," referring to the hairstylist’s recent affair with Vanderpump Villa star Marciano Brunette.

Demi also called Jessi's disclosure "a desperate attempt to shift attention away from her own behavior."

Page Six recounted that the "Fruity Pebbles" anecdote had already stirred tension during Season 1 of the series when Whitney Leavitt gifted the Engemanns a box of the cereal, which Demi called "tacky" after having shared a private detail about her sex life.

The latest clash erupted after Demi released an Instagram Reel implying the Hulu series was heavily scripted.

Page Six notes that the pair have repeatedly sparred both on and off the show, including over their separate ties to Marciano Brunette.

According to Deadline, The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives has been renewed at Hulu for a 20-episode fourth season, which is set to air in “early 2026.”

The show's Season 3 reunion episode is set to air on Dec. 4.
