For the first time since their dramatic divorce and his scathing tell-all book, former Golden Bachelor star Gerry Turner and his ex-wife, Theresa Nist, were in the same room together once again.
The former pair were both seated in the audience at the Golden Bachelor season 2 finale on Wednesday, November 12. However, they were seated in separate sections.
Turner and Nist got engaged after the conclusion of the first season of The Golden Bachelor, but did not remain together very long. By April of 2024, they had already announced their divorce. The two have not remained on good terms.
On November 4, Turner released a memoir entitled "Golden Years: What I've Learned from Love, Loss, and Reality TV.” In it, he discusses his former relationship with Nist and is highly critical of her, even claiming that she was not honest with him about a lot of things before their wedding. Nist has since refuted these claims.
Turner also described the moment that he proposed to Nist, noting that he wasn’t happy.
"Standing on the platform set up for the proposal, I felt empty,” he wrote. “I had already made the decision that I was going to propose to Theresa, so the feeling wasn’t about my resolution. Rather, there was no happiness in the moment."
To make the reunion between the two former lovers all the more awkward, Turner appeared in the audience during Wednesday night’s episode alongside his new fiancée, Lana Sutton.
Host Jesse Palmer acknowledged the two, saying, “Look who else is here: Gerry, our first ‘Golden Bachelor’ with his new fiancée, Lana. We wanna say congratulations on you both finding love,” he added. “Excited for you two.”
