Sydney Sweeney continues to feel the heat from a recent American Eagle jeans campaign, this time hearing it directly from a heckler.

Sweeney was on hand at Desert 5 Spot in Hollywood on August 3 for the premiere of her latest film, Americana. As she entered the venue, she was met by photogs, fans and at least one heckler who wanted to let Sweeney know exactly how she felt about the recent AE campaign.

In video, obtained by TMZ, a voice shouted: "Stop the ad, that is being racist!"

Sweeney, surrounded by security at the entrance, didn't respond to the heckler and continued inside. She later posed for photos with costars Halsey, Simon Rex, and director Tony Tost.

The incident with the heckler comes just days after American Eagle released a statement standing by Sweeney and the company's controversial campaign. The company said, “‘Sydney Sweeney Has Great Jeans’ is and always was about the jeans. Her jeans. Her story.” The statement adds, “We’ll continue to celebrate how everyone wears their AE jeans with confidence, their way. Great jeans look good on everyone.”

Also over the weekend, Sweeney's political leanings were made public by a user on X who revealed the Euphoria star has allegedly been a registered member of the Republican Party of Florida since June 2024.

Many have slammed the American Eagle jeans ad as one that promotes white supremacy and eugenics. While Sweeney hasn't said anything publicly about the ad, it has certainly set the internet on fire ... launching discussion and arguments across the political aisle.

Good news for Euphoria fans is that the controversy doesn't seem to have had an impact on her relationship with her costars, as Sweeney was spotted out at a Los Angeles karaoke spot over the weekend with Hunter Schafer and Maude Apatow.
