Jim Carrey is moving on from his longtime Los Angeles mansion, finding a buyer with deep pockets to lock down the pricey pad.
According to TMZ, Carrey's 5-bedroom Brentwood mansion just sold for $17 million after sitting on the market for 30 months. The home was first listed at $28.9 million back in February 2023.
The new buyer will have plenty of landscaping to enjoy, as the property sits on just over 2 acres. It's full of mature trees and features a gated entry for added privacy. There's also a massive swimming pool with a waterfall right above it.
In the odd chance the weather in Los Angeles doesn't want to cooperate, the inside of the home features a ton of space to enjoy as well. It's got over 10k square feet of living space, with a wine cellar, home gym and wet bar.
As you would expect for one of Hollywood's most successful comedians, there's a movie theater and plenty of space to entertain. The listing describes the space as, "The gorgeous custom art deco theater evokes the iconic movie cinemas of Hollywood with a popcorn concession room, mohair fabric walls, and burl wood columns."
The selling point of the home is clearly the outdoor space though, as the listing describes one portion of the property, "A meandering trail leads to the treetop yoga and meditation platform. This tranquil oasis is unlike any other in Los Angeles and must be experienced in person to be fully appreciated."
Carrey has reportedly owned the home since 1994, but has apparently maintained and upgraded it over the years. One unique feature still remaining is a bathroom done in stained wood with a fireplace, and it looks regal.
Graham J. Larson of Sotheby's held the listing for Carrey. It's not yet been reported who bought the home from the comedian.
