The next season of Tulsa King is adding someone with real-world experience in organized crime. Richie Stephens, an actor whose past includes drug trafficking, kidnapping, robbery, and gang involvement before turning his life around, has officially joined Season 4 of the Paramount+ series.
According to The New York Daily News, Stephens will play English Dan, a mid-level crime boss who becomes a rival supplier to Dwight “The General” Manfredi, played by Sylvester Stallone. Stephens isn’t just another actor stepping into a gangster role — he actually lived that life before eventually getting sober and rebuilding his career in Hollywood.
Stephens has spoken openly about his past over the years, including in his 2022 memoir The Gangster’s Guide to Sobriety: My Life in 12 Steps. In the book, he detailed how severe addiction and gang activity pulled him into criminal life after moving from Ireland to San Francisco.
The memoir describes a period that included drug trafficking, robbery, kidnapping, and escalating addiction before he eventually sought help and entered recovery.
That history has become a defining part of Stephens’ screen career. Since transitioning into acting, he has frequently been cast as mobsters, enforcers, and villains across television and film. His credits include appearances on NCIS, Blue Bloods, Criminal Minds, and MacGyver. He also previously worked with Taylor Sheridan on Mayor of Kingstown, where he played Russian antagonist Dmitri.
Season 4 of Tulsa King is already shaping up to be one of the franchise’s biggest yet. Stallone recently revealed that the new season is currently being edited, while production tied to the expanding Tulsa King universe — including the Samuel L. Jackson-led spinoff Frisco King — continues filming across Texas.
Stephens joins a growing lineup of new additions for the upcoming season, including Gretchen Mol as Tulsa politician Amanda Clark and Flula Borg as the villainous tech billionaire Bradley Van Heusen.
