Selena Gomez may run one of the biggest beauty brands in entertainment, but according to husband Benny Blanco, her eating habits are a lot closer to a kid’s birthday party than a wellness retreat.
During a live taping of the Goop Podcast with Gwyneth Paltrow on May 12, Blanco revealed that Gomez’s daily diet is built around fast food, fried food, and snacks most nutritionists would probably avoid. “[Selena] has the diet of a five-year-old child,” Blanco said, per E! News, explaining that the singer and actress tends to gravitate toward “whatever is bad for your diet.”
Blanco got even more specific while describing life at home with Gomez. According to him, the Rare Beauty founder recently started her day with Jack in the Box before sunrise. “This morning I walked in and she was eating Jack in the Box at 6:45 in the morning,” he said.
The producer added that Gomez is not especially interested in healthier staples either. “She doesn’t really like fruits or vegetables,” Blanco explained, though he admitted there is at least one exception. Referencing Paltrow’s Goop kitchen offerings, Blanco joked that Gomez “will eat the s--t out of Goop,” before clarifying that she mostly skips the greens and focuses on “everything on top of the salad.”
Paltrow immediately laughed off the confession, warning the audience, “This is NOT Goop approved!”
The comments are the latest example of Gomez and Blanco openly putting the realities of their relationship on display since marrying in September 2025. Over the past several months, the couple has repeatedly gone viral for sharing increasingly personal details and chaotic moments from their day-to-day life.
That includes Blanco’s Friends Keep Secrets podcast, which sparked headlines earlier this year after viewers noticed visible dirt covering the bottoms of his bare feet during the premiere episode. The situation escalated further when Blanco intentionally passed gas on the microphone and asked his co-hosts, “Wait, see if you guys can pick this up?”
Instead of distancing herself from the backlash, Gomez doubled down publicly. One day after the podcast clip exploded online, she posted an Instagram Story showing the couple kissing and wrote, “I fall more and more in love with you every day.”
