Quinton Aaron, best known for portraying Michael Oher in The Blind Side, is currently hospitalized in Atlanta after suffering a serious medical emergency at his home.

A representative for the actor confirmed to TMZ that Aaron was admitted several days ago following a sudden fall in his apartment.

He had been walking up a staircase when his legs unexpectedly gave out, causing him to collapse. Emergency responders transported him to a nearby hospital, where doctors continue to monitor his condition while running additional tests.

Online fundraising efforts related to Aaron’s hospitalization have described the situation as critical, claiming he was placed on life support due to a severe blood infection.

However, Aaron’s manager pushed back on some of that language, telling outlets that the actor is stable, alert, and communicating with both his family and professional team.

“Quinton is receiving excellent medical care and is surrounded by loved ones,” his manager said, adding that while the family is grateful for the public’s concern, they are requesting privacy as his treatment continues.

At this time, there has been no definitive explanation for what caused the fall or the underlying medical issue that led to his hospitalization. Those close to Aaron say doctors are still evaluating his condition and determining next steps, with updates expected once there is more clarity.

The health scare follows a challenging few years medically for Aaron. In March 2025, he was hospitalized in California after developing a fever and coughing up blood. At the time, physicians believed he was dealing with complications related to Type A influenza and pneumonia. He also battled a severe upper respiratory infection in 2019.

Despite those setbacks, Aaron had recently shared positive personal milestones. In October 2025, the actor revealed that he had lost roughly 200 pounds as part of a long-term health journey. Standing 6-foot-8, Aaron said he had reduced his weight from a high of 575 pounds to about 375, with a long-term goal of reaching 320 pounds.

Aaron rose to prominence in 2009 with The Blind Side, starring alongside Sandra Bullock and Tim McGraw.

Since then, his career has included appearances on Law & Order, Law & Order: SVU, Mercy, Harry’s Law, and several independent films.

In 2023, he also ventured into music, releasing his debut single, “Lead with Love.”
