Long Island has long been a breeding ground for musical talent, with names like Mariah Carey, Ashanti, Public Enemy, and Billy Joel leaving their mark on global stages.
According to The New York Times, in the early 2000s, Rick Eberle, a Farmingdale-based promoter and musician, was one of the figures championing that local music ecosystem and helped turn open mic nights into stepping-stones for aspiring artists.
As the emcee of the Downtown in Farmingdale event, Rick gave hundreds of unsigned acts their first real stage. He later found success licensing music for MTV shows such as Jersey Shore and holding executive roles at multiple labels, cementing himself as a key figure in the Long Island music scene.
Now, that legacy continues with his son.
Rob Eberle, a rising singer, songwriter, and producer, has stepped out with his debut album Signal Fades. Originally from Long Island and now based in Los Angeles, Rob carries forward his father’s passion for music while carving out his own lane in the darker corners of alternative pop-rock.
Drawing influence from artists like FINNEAS, Billie Eilish, Jeremy Zucker, and Alexander 23, his sound blends storytelling with genre-bending production.
Rob first began to attract attention with his debut EP Collateral Damage, which has earned more than 400,000 streams across platforms.
Since then, he’s partnered with earthprogram/Virgin (now under the Warner Music Group umbrella with Sparta) and landed promotional deals with brands like Coca-Cola. His track "goodbye (to someone you love)" broke through at Top 40 radio, climbing to #36 and earning him a spot at the top of the Indie Singles Chart, where he currently holds #1, as well as a place on the Indie Hot 100 at #24.
Live, Rob has become a fixture on festival and showcase stages. He’s performed with WFNM and BMI in Los Angeles, played Elsewhere and MONDO in New York, and made appearances at both SXSW and ACL in Austin.
