Kirk Franklin’s son, Kerrion Franklin, has once again put his family in the spotlight—this time with disturbing claims of long-term abuse.
On September 15, the reality star shared an image on Instagram showing scars across his back, writing that the marks were not from intimacy but from years of violent punishment he says began in childhood.
“These scars all over my back are not Sex Stories,” Kerrion wrote. “Breaks my heart all over again when ppl ask cuz iii wish that was the case. Pain is the only feeling that’s familiar for me… being beat black and blue since 1st grade. I walk with war & Betrayal in my posture.”
He continued, alleging that his “parentals enjoyed expressing rotten Rage in many ways as (punishment/Consequence)…These scars are the only memories iii have of my childhood.”
The post immediately drew scrutiny. Several users questioned the authenticity of the scars, pointing out that older videos showed Kerrion without similar markings. Others accused him of fabricating stories while under the influence. Still, the post reignited conversation about a father-son relationship that has played out publicly for years.
In 2021, Kerrion leaked audio recordings of a heated phone argument with his father. At the time, Kirk denied ever physically harming his son, though he admitted their family had endured serious conflict.
Two years later, the gospel star described the fallout as “the worst two years of [his] life,” telling fans that the recordings were only one piece of a long and painful history.
The dynamic continued to unfold in 2022, when Kerrion came out as bisexual while appearing on Zeus Network’s Bad Boys: Los Angeles.
Kirk later spoke on the situation, saying, “There have been good days, there have been bad days still… I hope that my son will feel and see the support that is there for him.” He also reaffirmed his unconditional love: “I love you and my love for you is not based on who you love. My love for you does not waver.”
Vibe representatives contacted Kirk Franklin after the story broke, but as of this writing, they have not responded to Kerrion’s latest allegations.
