Taylor Sheridan’s espionage thriller Lioness has officially completed production on its third season, bringing an end to a five-month shoot across North Texas. While Paramount+ has not yet announced a premiere date, the series is now one step closer to returning after a nearly two-year gap between seasons.

According to the Dallas Morning News, filming wrapped on March 25, with much of the new season shot in and around Fort Worth and Dallas. Production crews spent the past several months transforming locations across the region into the latest backdrops for the CIA drama, including shoots near Texas Christian University, in downtown Fort Worth, and at several high-profile restaurants and hotels.

Roads were temporarily closed near the Cultural District, University Drive, and downtown landmarks, including the Sinclair Hotel and Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steakhouse.

Created by Taylor Sheridan, Lioness follows CIA operative Joe McNamara, played by Zoe Saldaña, as she attempts to balance her personal life with her role as the lead of the agency’s covert Lioness program.

Nicole Kidman is set to return as Kaitlyn Meade, alongside Jill Wagner as Bobby and a supporting cast that includes Michael Kelly, LaMonica Garrett, Dave Annable, Morgan Freeman, and Laysla de Oliveira. Season 3 will also introduce new cast members Elizaveta Neretin and Ian Bohen.

Several cast members shared updates from the final days of filming on social media. James Jordan, who plays QRF team member Two Cups, posted a photo from set and wrote, “Thank you @lionesspplus we did it.”

Wagner offered a more emotional reflection, describing the upcoming season as “EPIC.”

In a lengthy Instagram post, she wrote, “To try to capture the last 5 months in 20 pics is impossible … season 3 was EPIC. Every single moment was golden to me.”

The enthusiasm surrounding the new season follows Lioness’s momentum during its second run. The series debuted in 2023 to mixed reviews, but season 2 earned significantly stronger reactions from critics and viewers.

Rotten Tomatoes scores jumped from 54 percent for the first season to 90 percent for the second. Sheridan has written every episode of the series so far.
