Jesse Williams is preparing to become a father again. The former Grey’s Anatomy star and his new wife, Alejandra Onieva, are expecting their first child together just weeks after reports surfaced that they had quietly married.
According to The New York Post, the couple was photographed in Los Angeles during a Whole Foods run, with Onieva visibly pregnant. The pair later met friends for lunch, keeping things low-key despite the attention surrounding the outing. Onieva also appeared to acknowledge the pregnancy herself days earlier on Instagram, posting photos showing her baby bump alongside the caption “Vida,” the Spanish word for “life,” which quickly drew congratulatory messages from fans and friends.
Williams spent more than a decade in the public eye thanks to his role as Dr. Jackson Avery on Grey's Anatomy.
Williams and Onieva first met in 2025 while filming the Amazon Prime series Hotel Costiera on Italy’s Amalfi Coast. Williams played a former Marine working at a luxury hotel, with Onieva as his co-star.
Although the action drama lasted only one season, the relationship that developed during production moved quickly. By late 2025, the two were appearing together publicly in Madrid and Rome, and at the San Sebastián Film Festival, before reports surfaced earlier this month that they had secretly married in a private ceremony.
The pregnancy news also arrives years after Williams’ highly publicized divorce from Aryn Drake-Lee. The two married in 2012 after dating for several years and share two children together: daughter Sadie and son Maceo.
Their 2017 split turned into a lengthy legal and custody battle that stretched until the divorce was finalized in 2020. Court disputes over parenting schedules, support payments, and custody arrangements kept the former couple in headlines long after the separation itself.
