Former Grey’s Anatomy star Jesse Williams has quietly married Alejandra Onieva, with multiple reports confirming the couple tied the knot months ago in a private ceremony that went largely unnoticed in the press.
According to TMZ, the two opted for a low-key wedding, avoiding public announcements and keeping details tightly controlled. The timeline suggests the marriage took place after the pair had already begun appearing together publicly, but before any formal confirmation of their relationship status.
Williams and Onieva first met in 2025 while filming the series Hotel Costiera on Italy’s Amalfi Coast, where they starred opposite each other. Their connection developed during production and soon extended beyond the set. By early fall 2025, they were seen together in Madrid, later attended a premiere in Rome, and made a joint appearance at the San Sebastián Film Festival.
The marriage marks a new chapter for Williams following his divorce from Aryn Drake-Lee, which was finalized in 2020 after several years of legal disputes. What began as a relatively quiet split in 2017 escalated into a prolonged court battle over custody, finances, and co-parenting arrangements. Drake-Lee sought sole custody at one stage, while Williams challenged the terms of his parenting time, leading to mediation and court oversight.
Financial disagreements also became a central issue. In 2018, Williams was ordered to pay more than $50,000 per month in spousal support, in addition to child support, prompting further legal challenges over the structure and scale of those payments.
The case continued to draw attention even after the divorce was finalized, with both parties later ordered to participate in a “high conflict parents” program as disputes over scheduling and parenting decisions persisted.
Onieva is a well-known Spanish actress with a strong presence in European television, which kept much of the couple’s early visibility overseas rather than in U.S. media, such as when they were spotted together at the Venice Film Festival.
Representatives for Williams have not publicly commented on the marriage.
