Kellie Williams is marking a major personal milestone, and fans are paying attention for more than one reason. The Family Matters alum recently celebrated her 50th birthday by sharing photos from a new photoshoot, along with a message reflecting on the moment and the people around her.
“Feeling so blessed today. Thank you all for the incredible love, messages, and support on my 50th birthday. My heart is truly full,” Williams wrote on Instagram, per People.
She continued, “I’m grateful for my amazing family and friends who continue to pour into me, lift me up, and walk with me through every season.”
The birthday update arrives as Williams has been reentering public conversations tied to her legacy in Family Matters, the long-running sitcom that aired from 1989 to 1997. Best known for her role as Laura Winslow, Williams has recently revisited that era through new projects, including appearances and podcast conversations that unpack the show’s cultural impact.
During a recent appearance on the Hey Dude… The 90’s Called! podcast alongside co-star Telma Hopkins, Williams spoke about the enduring dynamic between Laura Winslow and Steve Urkel, played by Jaleel White.
Reflecting on White’s performance, she emphasized the level of detail behind the character. “People don’t understand how talented… the amount of work, the dedication, the level of detail that he did on that character was insane,” she said.
When asked whether Laura and Urkel ultimately got married after their engagement in the series finale, Williams confirmed that she believes they did.
That moment sparked widespread discussion among fans who still associate her with her teenage role from Family Matters.
Outside of acting, Williams has also supported creative projects such as Tanya Wright’s Hairiette of Harlem series, which blends storytelling with literacy-focused learning tools for children.
