DeShae Frost is facing mounting criticism after a video allegedly showing the actor and YouTuber striking a woman while filming a dating series resurfaced online and quickly spread across social media.
The footage, which was reportedly filmed in 2023 during the production of one of Frost’s YouTube dating shows, began circulating after an alleged former director shared it on Instagram, along with an explanation of why he said he left the project.
HotNewHipHop notes the former director — who used the handle @chrizdafu — claimed the incident happened aboard a boat while Frost was filming an episode of the series.
In the clip, Frost appears to make a quick upward motion with his hand toward a woman who is crouched down near him. The movement appears to cause her to lose her balance and fall backward.
Several women nearby can then be seen reacting to what happened and attempting to speak to Frost before he walks away from the group.
In the Instagram post, the alleged former director wrote that the incident was “The reason I quit directing 10 episode series on YouTube.” He continued, “No man should ever hit a woman. I pray that the Lord my God Jesus Christ forgives me.”
Although the original post appears to have been removed, screenshots and reposts continued circulating across X, TikTok, and Instagram throughout the weekend.
The controversy marks the most serious backlash Frost has faced to date. The 25-year-old entertainer first built his audience through comedy sketches and prank videos before branching into acting.
Frost is best known for playing Darryl Henderson on CBS’s S.W.A.T., and he has also appeared on Adult Swim’s Black Jesus.
Away from television, he has built one of the largest followings among young internet creators, with millions of followers across YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram. His YouTube channel alone has more than 3.7 million subscribers.
As of this writing, Frost has not addressed the allegations.
