David Beckham and Victoria Beckham are still holding out hope that their fractured relationship with their eldest son isn’t permanent—despite the situation escalating into a very public standoff.

According to a new People cover story released this week, sources close to the couple say David and Victoria were deeply shaken by Brooklyn Beckham’s recent Instagram posts accusing them of years of control, media manipulation, and attempts to damage his marriage to Nicola Peltz Beckham.

While insiders describe the Beckhams as “horrified” by the allegations, they reportedly remain open to reconciliation.

“They would take him back in a minute,” one source said, adding that the couple believes Brooklyn “will come back,” even if that day feels far off.

The cover story paints a picture of a family at an impasse. Brooklyn and Nicola, who are approaching their fourth wedding anniversary, are said to feel finished with trying to repair the relationship for now.

Multiple sources say the couple believes David and Victoria are behind years of negative press about them, a claim Brooklyn echoed directly in his social media statement.

“I have been controlled by my parents for most of my life,” Brooklyn wrote, adding that since stepping away from his family, his long-standing anxiety has eased. He also said he does not want to reconcile and feels “at peace” with the life he’s chosen.

The feud traces back to Brooklyn and Nicola’s 2022 wedding, which insiders describe as the breaking point. Brooklyn has claimed his mother pulled out of designing Nicola’s dress at the “eleventh hour” and later “hijacked” the couple’s first dance. “I’ve never felt more uncomfortable or humiliated in my entire life,” he wrote of the moment.

Behind the scenes, sources say communication between the two sides has deteriorated so badly that they now speak only through lawyers. Some insiders claim David and Victoria would welcome Brooklyn back but not Nicola—an assertion Brooklyn is unwilling to entertain, having repeatedly stated that his wife has been his primary source of support.

Amid the fallout, Victoria has remained publicly silent on the conflict, recently posting only to celebrate Emma Bunton’s birthday and attending public events without addressing the controversy.

David, meanwhile, offered his only public comment while speaking at the World Economic Forum in Davos, where he avoided specifics but shared a broader philosophy.

“Children are allowed to make mistakes—that’s how they learn,” he said during a panel on social media. “Sometimes you have to let them make those mistakes as well.”
