New 'Thor: Love and Thunder' Teaser Features New Footage, Closer Look at Guardians of the Galaxy

With just weeks to go until 'Thor: Love and Thunder,' Marvel has shared a new teaser for the film that offers a look at the God of Thunder’s new team.

With just weeks to go until Thor: Love and Thunder, Marvel has shared a new trailer for the film that offers a look at the God of Thunder’s newly assembled team.

In the fourth Thor film, our hero sets off on another mission, this time joined by Taika Waititi’s hilarious Korg, Natalie Portman in her return to the MCU as Jane Foster, Tessa Thompson’s Valkyrie, the Guardians of the Galaxy, and some giant goats because why not. The clip also gives us our closest look at the Guardians’ involvement in the film, including a brief argument between Groot and Rocket Raccoon.

The Waititi-directed film, which he also co-wrote with Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, is set to hit theaters on July 8. Also starring is Christian Bale as villain Gorr the God Butcher, Jaimie Alexander as Sif, Russell Crowe as Zeus, and the entire main Guardians cast minus Zoe Saldaña's Gamora, who is missing in action following the ending of Avengers: Endgame. Additionally, Jeff Goldblum is expected to reprise his Thor: Ragnarok role as the Grandmaster.

Portman notably skipped out on Marvel films following 2013’s Thor: Dark World, and in a new Variety profile, she revealed her children helped encourage her to return to the franchise. “I feel like it’s the phase of my career where I’m really trying to just impress my kids,” she said. “My 5-year-old and my 10-year-old were so enthralled by this process, getting to visit the set and see me dressed up in a cape. It made it really cool. You know, it’s very rare that my kids are like, ‘Please go to work!’ Usually, it’s quite the opposite.”

Meanwhile, Bale recently opened up about making his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in an interview, and suggested that he had to be told what the MCU stood for. “I’d read that, and people would go, ‘Oh, look at this! He’s entered the MCU!’ And I’d go, ‘I’ve done what? I haven’t entered shit, thank you very much,’” Bale recalled. “I’m like, ‘The MCU?’ I had to ask what that was.” He also mentioned that he was worried about what he got himself in for when he Google searched Gorr, and discovered he typically would run around “in a G-string all the time.”
