The Marvel Cinematic Universe is about to look a whole lot different.

Ahead of the July 8 release ofThor: Love and Thunder, studio boss Kevin Feige hinted at some major announcements, some of which will be announced at Comic-Con in July, and D23 Expo in September.

“As we’re nearing the end of Phase 4, I think people will start to see where this next saga is going,” Feige told Total Film. “I think there have been many clues already, that are at least apparent to me, of where this whole saga is going. But we’ll be a little more direct about that in the coming months, to set a plan, so audiences who want to see the bigger picture can see a tiny, tiny, tiny bit more of the roadmap.”

As Deadline points out, people have speculated that all signs are pointing to Secret Wars as the centerpiece of Marvel’s next phase. The iconic comic book run features the X-Men, Spider-Man, the Fantastic Four, Deadpool, and the Avengers, and incorporates elements of the multiverse, which Marvel has embraced in recent years.

“I’ve seen those rumors as well. Why is everyone talking about that now? That’s what I want to know,” Feige recently said to ComicBook.com about the Secret Wars speculation.

Either way, with Iron Man and Captain America presumably out of the picture, the next Avengers movie will look a whole lot different than what fans have become accustomed to. But with iconic characters like the X-Men yet to be introduced, Marvel likely still has a ton of tricks up its sleeve.
