RaKai Claims Orthodontist Told Him She Couldn't Tighten Braces Because His Mouth Was 'Too Dirty'

During a recent stream, he suggested that he's never been spoken to like this by a dentist.

Popular streamer RaKai left an orthodontist appointment upset after he was told his mouth was too dirty for his braces to be tightened.

During a recent stream, Rakai spoke about a dental health visit that left him frustrated.

“They had the fucking nerve… I said, ‘Yo, hey, what’s up with me?’” he said. “She gonna go ahead and tell my Black ass and said, ‘You can’t until you get a cleaning, ‘cause your mouth is too dirty for us to tighten your braces and make your teeth get straighter. Why your mouth be dirty like that, n***a?’”

Despite his annoyance, it’s actually an incredibly bad idea to get your braces tightened if they haven’t been properly cleaned first. Oral hygiene is of the utmost importance when it comes to braces, because otherwise, patients could suffer from gum disease, tooth decay, or improper bonding due to plaque buildup.

During the same stream, he suggested that he is considering taking his orthodontist to court, but he likely doesn’t have a case. He previously also threatened to sue his hairdresser after he was unhappy with his haircut. Of course, he could be joking, playing into the memes about his dental health.

RaKai was one of the breakout streaming success stories of last year, catapulting to fame while he was still in high school. The 17-year-old, who streams as 2xRaKai, was banned from Twitch last year after he streamed from inside a Walmart and handed a woman some flowers that he allegedly didn’t pay for.

At the Streamer Awards last month, he confronted the company’s CEO, Dan Clancy, to ask why he was banned.

"Quick question: why you ban me?" asked RaKai.

"You know why, man. You don't have to ask me. They communicated with you, man,” Clancy responded. “I don't know the details. I don't do this."

Clancy also clarified that he doesn’t handle bans directly, and there’s “a whole team” responsible for them.

“You know why you were banned,” he added.
