Ice-T Appears to Compare Trump to the Devil For Beefing With the Pope: 'Smh'

Trump recently called Pope Leo XIV "weak" and "terrible" in a post on social media, then shared an image appearing to depict himself as Jesus.

After Donald Trump criticized Pope Leo XIV in a post on Truth Social, Ice-T appeared to compare the President to the devil.

“Thought the Devil would be the only one to start a beef with the pope,” Ice-T wrote in a post shared on X, formerly Twitter, on Tuesday (April 14). “Oh yeah… Smh.”

The post appears to be a direct response to Trump’s recent tirade against the leader of the Catholic Church, who he criticized after Pope Leo made a plea for peace earlier this month amid the Trump administration’s war with Iran.

“Pope Leo is WEAK on Crime, and terrible for Foreign Policy. He talks about ‘fear’ of the Trump Administration, but doesn’t mention the FEAR that the Catholic Church, and all other Christian Organizations, had during COVID when they were arresting priests, ministers, and everybody else, for holding Church Services, even when going outside, and being ten and even twenty feet apart,” Trump wrote in a Truth Social post. “I don’t want a Pope who criticizes the President of the United States because I’m doing exactly what I was elected, IN A LANDSLIDE, to do… Leo should get his act together as Pope, use Common Sense, stop catering to the Radical Left, and focus on being a Great Pope, not a Politician.”

Trump, not content with bombing schools and hospitals in Iran (per The New York Times), has been burning a lot of bridges as of late, thanks to his intense threats during the Iran conflict. In a post on Truth Social earlier this month, Trump demanded the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and appeared to threaten to wipe out the entire country.

"Tuesday will be Power Plant Day, and Bridge Day, all wrapped up in one, in Iran. There will be nothing like it!!!" Trump wrote, signaling potential strikes on key infrastructure. "Open the Fuckin' Strait, you crazy bastards, or you'll be living in Hell — JUST WATCH!" He also suggested that “a whole civilization will die” unless Iran agreed to a deal with the United States.

When the Pope presided over an evening prayer service earlier this month, he criticized political leaders prioritizing war over their respective nations.

“Enough of the idolatry of self and money!” said Pope Leo, per the Independent. “Enough of the display of power! Enough of war!” Shortly after his comments made the rounds, Trump fired back and called Pope Leo “weak” and “terrible for foreign policy.”

Trump then posted a picture, likely AI-generated that appeared to depict him as Jesus, although he has since denied that the image was making such a comparison and deleted the post.

As reported by the Independent, the Pope has responded to Trump’s recent behavior.

“I have no fear of the Trump administration, or speaking out loudly of the message of the gospel, which is what I believe I am here to do, what the Church is here to do,” he said. “I will continue to speak out loudly against war, looking to promote peace, promoting dialogue and multilateral relationships among the states to look for just solutions to problems… Too many people are suffering in the world today. I think someone has to stand up and say there’s a better way.”
