The United Kingdom's Crown Prosecution Service has announced that misogynist influencer Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan are facing a total of 21 criminal charges, including rape and human trafficking.
As reported by the BBC, the CPS confirmed this week that it authorized ten charges against Andrew and 11 charges against Tristan last year before an extradition warrant to bring them to the UK from Romania was issued. The CPS has indicated that the "domestic criminal matters in Romania," which are separate from the charges they face in the UK, must be settled first.
Andrew is facing charges including rape, actual bodily harm, human trafficking and controlling prostitution for gain. The charges are related to alleged crimes against three victims. Tristan's charges are connected to one alleged victim and include rape, actual bodily harm and human trafficking. They will be extradited to the United Kingdom when their cases in Romania conclude.
The brothers were arrested in December 2022 in Romania on rape and human trafficking charges, which they denied. Additionally, they are facing another case in which they were accused of having sexual intercourse with a minor and laundering money. They were both born in the United States but moved to the UK as children when their English mother, Eileen, divorced from their American father, Emory.
The news comes just over a month after Andrew's ex-girlfriend, Bri Stern, was granted a temporary restraining order against him because she feared for her life. She has also filed a lawsuit against him, accusingly physically abusing her during a sexual encounter at a Beverly Hills hotel.
