Stan Lee's daughter didn't hold back her opinion of Marvel and Disney's brief stewardship of Spider-Man. Now that a deal between the superhero movie behemoth and Sony has fallen apart, JC Lee took the megacorp to task for failing to honor her late father's work.

Lee began by saying she thinks the battle of Spidey rights is ultimately good for the character. Much like in the comic book world, Lee thinks that giving many people a shot at creating their spin on it.

"Marvel and Disney seeking total control of my father's creations must be checked and balanced by others who, while still seeking to profit, have genuine respect for Stan Lee and his legacy," she told TMZ. "Whether it's Sony or someone else's, the continued evolution of Stan's characters and his legacy deserves multiple points of view."

She said that Disney wasn't one for human connection, noting that nobody contacted her family following Lee's death. “When my father died, no one from Marvel or Disney reached out to me. From day one, they have commoditized my father’s work and never shown him or his legacy any respect or decency,” she said. "In the end, no one could have treated my father worse than Marvel and Disney's executives."

While JC is happy to see Spidey free, plenty of fans are upset about the idea of the Avenger falling by the wayside. Fans are petitioning the studios and even considering storming the Sony offices to urge Spidey's current story continues.
