A "Montoya 2.0" moment has taken over the internet, this time centered on contestant Gilbert from La Isla de las Tentaciones, the Spanish version of Temptation Island.
The comparison comes from the now legendary reaction of José Carlos Montoya, whose "Montoya, por favor!" breakdown became one of reality TV's most viral moments.
Now, Gilbert is being labeled "Montoya 2.0" after his own chaotic response to seeing his girlfriend Claudia get intimate with another man.
In the viral scene from Season 9, episode seven, Gilbert watches a video of Claudia making out with another man in a pool. Gilbert stays silent as he leans closer to the screen to take it all in.
Once the clip ends, GIlbert grabs the tablet, shuts it, and throws it away in frustration.
“Where is Villa Playa?” he says in Spanish before suddenly sprinting across the beach toward the other villa to confront Claudia directly.
As he runs, the host can be heard shouting his name and asking for production staff to grab him. Gilbert keeps going anyway, eventually reaching the house and yelling for Claudia as the two begin shouting at each other in Spanish from a distance.
The situation escalates so quickly that crew members and security step in, physically restraining both Gilbert and Claudia to keep the confrontation from seemingly turning physical.
“What the fuck are you doing, Claudia?” Gilbert screams, as Claudia begs to be let go.
“You’ll never see me again in your fucking life,” he continues. “I’m telling you! Hope you two are happy. The first bonfire... The first girl from Temptation Island to be tempted. Bravo!”
He continued, “How disgusting, man! You are disgusting! You should be ashamed. Aren’t you ashamed?”
Although the clip is from an episode that originally aired in Spain back in November 2025, the moment went viral again after the episode was released on a Romanian streaming app.
According to El Confidencial, Gilbert and Claudia's relationship fell apart shortly after the show began.
Both decided to leave the show single, choosing not to pursue connections with the other contestants on the show. During an emotional confrontation in the season finale, the exes acknowledged that they weren't right for each other and said they wanted to focus on getting to know themselves.
