Jennifer Aniston Debunks Tabloid Rumor That She and Barack Obama Were ‘Obsessed’ With Each Other

The claim came from an August 2024 issue of 'In Touch Weekly' that claimed the actress and the former president made Michelle Obama feel "betrayed."

Jennifer Aniston set the record straight about untrue tabloid rumors, particularly about Barack Obama.

On a recent episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, the 55-year-old actress was asked about some of the pesky gossip published about her in the tabloids.

Kimmel, 56, pointed to a copy of an August 2024 issue of In Touch Weekly titled “The Truth About Jen & Barack!” Per the cover, the magazine alleged that the Friends actress and the former president were “obsessed with each other,” leaving Michelle Obama feeling “betrayed.”

“Of all the calls you get from your publicist where you’re just like ‘Oh no, what’s it gonna be?’ Or the email saying, you know, ‘Some cheesy tabloid is gonna make up a story,’ and then it's that. I was not mad at it,” Aniston said at the 4:18 mark in the video linked above before confirming the rumors are “absolutely untrue.”

Aniston did say she met Barack once and knows Michelle “more than him,” but did not explain in what capacity.

Kimmel named other tabloid fodder for Aniston to debunk during the episode. The actress dispelled rumors that she installed a $4000 anti-aging water filter in her home for dogs and that she has a black belt in Jiu-Jitsu.

However, Aniston confirms that she once had a salmon sperm facial, traveled abroad with a jar of olives, and had a piece of art hanging at the Museum of Modern Art at 11 years old. She also hesitantly admitted it’s “a little true” that she keeps a Ziploc bag of her deceased therapist’s ashes.

Aniston also confirmed that she was asked to belly dance for her family.

“Anytime. Not just Christmas Eve,” said Aniston of her Greek family’s tradition. “It's like when you say to your child ‘Play piano for everyone’ or ‘Let's sing for everyone.’ I get such anxiety when my friends do that to their children because I have inner trauma from having to perform and belly dance in front of my Greek aunts and uncles, and grandmothers. I get it.”
