Deon Cole once again recalled the time Stevie Wonder took his girl.
The 52-year-old comedian talked about the incident on his episode of Shannon Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay podcast, which premiered on Wednesday.
Cole said it all went down when he and his girlfriend went to a concert of the 25-time Grammy Award winner. The two wound up going backstage when Wonder supposedly requested to meet Cole’s companion.
The comedian claims he ended up waiting 45 minutes before realizing something was going on.
“She comes back and she goes, ‘Hey, do you mind taking a cab home?” Cole recalled, noting that she was the one who drove. “I'm like, ‘Why am I taking a cab home?’ She was like, ‘Because Stevie, he just wants to talk to me about some things and da, da da. I was like, ‘Are you kidding me?’”
Cole told Sharpe the woman handed him $100 to go back home, saying, “I got in the cab and went home and I was like, ‘Wow, this is a dark day.’”
The comedian says he’s not the only person who says a story about the Songs In The Key of Life singer—specifically calling out Questlove.
“Tell him, Quest, I'm putting you on blast. He knows Stevie is a motherfucker. Everybody knows Stevie a motherfucker,” he said. “President Obama knows Stevie's a motherfucker.”
Deon has discussed the matter at different lengths in the past, including an appearance on The Talk and his Comedy Central standup special, Deon Cole: Cole Blooded Seminar, in 2016.
Wonder has been married to Tomeeka Robyn Bracy since 2017, per People. The couple welcomed daughters Zaiah and Nyah years prior before they wed.
