The world of Avatar: The Last Airbender will expand with new projects, including a fighter video game and a new animated series.

The announcement was made during a panel commemorating the series’ 20th anniversary at New York Comic Con, per Variety.

The panel featured original cast members Zach Tyler Eisen, Jack De Sena, Michaela Jill Murphy, Dante Basco, Mae Whitman, co-creator Bryan Konietzko, and was moderated by Janet Varney.

The fighting game, currently under the working title Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game, will feature hand-drawn 2D animation and include characters like Aang, Katara, Sokka, Zuko, Azula, Toph, and Korra.

Players can expect Aang to use airbending and enter the Avatar State, Zuko to wield fire and don his Blue Spirit persona, and Korra to bend all four elements.

The game is set for a summer 2026 release on consoles.

A new chibi-style animated short series was also announced, with shorts reimagining scenes from the original series and comics. They will also include original stories, such as a parody of the premiere episode featuring Katara and Sokka discovering Aang and battling Zuko.

Looking ahead, the Avatar universe will continue to grow with a new sequel series titled Avatar: Seven Heavens, which follows the Avatar after Korra, and a feature film, The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender, scheduled to hit theaters on October 9, 2026.
