After a day of self-imposed silence, Jada Pinkett Smith has used her Twitter fingers to call out the Golden Globes for snubbing Girls Trip and her hilarious co-star Tiffany Haddish. Girls Trip came out in July and was the highest grossing live-action comedy of this year, making over $100 million. It became the most successful film in history to be produced, directed, written by, and starring Black artists.

Haddish will be presenting at the Golden Globes, despite not being nominated. Smith went on in her thread to talk about other snubbed films created by people of color, including Kumail Nanjiani’s The Big Sick and Jordan Peele’s Get Out. She cited systemic failings of Hollywood set in place by racism as an explanation for the egregious oversights. “The fact that one of the most prolific films of the year, @GetOutMovie, is considered a comedy... illuminates the depths of the sunken place... for real,” Smith wrote.
