Sydney Sweeney wears many hats: actor, model, producer, and perhaps soon enough, boxer.

Ahead of her upcoming movie Christy — a biopic on former professional boxer Christy Martin — Sweeney spoke with SportsCasting and revealed that filming the movie had her considering taking up professional boxing.

“There was a moment in the middle of filming where I was like, ‘Should I give it all up and fight because I love this?” Sweeney said.

Sweeney also revealed that she received a co-sign on her skills from Martin herself — who worked with her closely on the movie. “Christy said she’d sign me up. So, this isn’t as hypothetical as you actually think it is. Yeah, I’d totally do a charity bout, that’d be so sick.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Sweeney hinted that fans may soon be able to look forward to an actual boxing match. When asked whom she’d face off against in the ring, Sweeney kept mum, but teased something exciting.

“It’s a surprise, you’ll have to wait, I’m serious,” Sweeney said. “You gotta stay tuned for the pay-per-view and you’ll see it.”

In the same conversation, Martin hinted that she had “some names that we can’t throw out yet,” further fueling excitement for the alleged match.

Though Sweeney has had a stacked film slate in recent memory, this past year has not been without its controversies for her. She faced much backlash for an advertisement for Levi’s Jeans, containing the slogan “Sydney Sweeney has great jeans,” which some people considered white supremacist terminology.

In a profile for GQ, Sweeney revealed that the reaction to the ad “definitely was a surprise.”

Still, the initial reactions to Christy have been positive, and fans can look forward to seeing Sweeney in action upon Christy’s wide release this Friday, November 7.
