Labrinth isn’t letting go of his music industry gripes anytime soon.

On Tuesday, March 17, the singer and producer took to Instagram to share another note about his industry-related woes. Specifically, he detailed his disdain toward the toxic dynamics of the industry.

“WE HOVER AROUND BIG STARS HOPING TO BE IN THEIR PLACE ONE DAY LIKE SNAKES WAITING TO EAT THEIR OWNERS,” he wrote.

Over the course of his career, Labrinth has collaborated with Diplo, Sia, Billie Eilish, Ed Sheeran, and Beyoncé. He also composed the score for the first two seasons of HBO’s Euphoria, and is reported to have composed Season 3’s score alongside Hans Zimmer. However, it appears the British hitmaker has felt the burdens of the industry for a long time, and refuses to hold in his frustrations any longer.

“WE WALK INTO THIS INDUSTRY AS PURE CREATIVES THAT WISH TO SHARE COLOR AND GET TURNED INTO WOLVES OF WALL STREET DRIBBLING OVER STOCKS AND SHARES,” he continued. “WE HAVE MEANINGFUL RELATIONSHIPS WITH LIKE MINDED PEOPLE AND DISCARD THEM AS SOON AS A BIGGER OPPORTUNITY ARRIVES. WHO THE F*** SAID THIS IS NORMAL OR OK TO TURN what I call GODS NOISE (our music) INTO BUSINESS TRANSACTIONS.”

Labrinth’s post comes days after another notes app vent session, in which he called out his label — as well as Euphoria — and declared that he was done with the industry.

“F*** Columbia. Double f*** Euphoria. I’m out,” he wrote in the since-deleted post. “Thank you and goodnight.”

Though Labrinth hasn’t gone into specifics about what triggered his notes, he’s received support from other artists in the comments.

“Yes it can be pretty awful what is surround the art,” wrote fellow British hitmaker Natasha Bedingfield. “Harmful to the creative child within. Listening to intuition and approaching art with playful innocence and prioritizing what we do care about is an antidote.”

“i genuinely think about this every day,” wrote actress and singer Dove Cameron.

Euphoria’s long-awaited third season is scheduled to premiere on Sunday, April 12 on HBO.
