Kim Kardashian is in good company in her upcoming Netflix Original comedy, The Fifth Wheel.

Set to be directed by Eva Longoria, The Fifth Wheel will star Kardashian alongside Nikki Glaser, Brenda Song, and Fortune Feimster, Deadline reported on Wednesday, December 9.

According to the publication, The Fifth Wheel “follows a group of best friends from high school who attempt to reconnect during a weekend jaunt to Vegas. When a hot outsider (Kardashian) crashes the weekend, they’re forced to face their messy lives, bad decisions and unraveling friendships.”

The film is based on a script written by Paula Pell — who has written for Saturday Night Live and starred on Girls5Eva — and her wife, comedian and writer Janine Brito. Kardashian and Pell are set to produce the film, alongside Jessica Elbaum, Will Ferrell and Alex Brown through the Gloria Sanchez banner, as well as Cris Abrego and Longoria’s Hyphenate Media Group.

In recent years, Kim has made many an appearance on screen, notably in Ryan Murphy television series like American Horror Story: Delicate and All’s Fair. While her AHS performance received much buzz at the time of its 2023 premiere, her performance on All’s Fair has been panned by critics. Despite that negative press, All’s Fair will return for a second season.

Song, who began her acting career as a Disney star, had a great run this year with roles on Running Point alongside Kate Hudson, and in The Last Showgirl with Pamela Anderson.

The Fifth Wheel was first acquired by Netflix back in 2023 in a competitive bidding war. According to Deadline, the script was described as “one of the funnier in some time by a number of buyers who were involved in the auction.” And of course, given the resumes of Pell, Feimster, Glaser, such praise is par for the course.

The Fifth Wheel will arrive to Netflix at a yet-to-be-announced date.
