The wait is finally over. Apple Music is officially here and now live through the iOS 8.4 update that was released along with the service. Users will need to download the update on their phones to get the full experience of Apple Music, which comes free for three months when users first sign up. After the first three months, Apple Music will cost $9.99 a month, but will also be offering a family deal where six family members can sign up for a total of $14.99 a month. The service is available through all iOS devices, as well as PCs through a desktop app that is found with the latest version of iTunes, and will be available on all Android devices in the fall.
While Apple Music is now in direct competition with Spotify, they will try and bridge the gap to the streaming giant through the use of exclusive content, which at the moment includes Taylor Swift's 1989, Dr. Dre's The Chronic, and more.
Along with Apple Music, Apple is also launching their new 24-hour radio station, Beats 1 Radio, today, which will include shows with Drake, Pharrell, Jaden Smith, and many more. Aside from the celebrity shows, the station will include the services of the three main DJs - Zane Lowe, Ebro, and Julie Adenuga - who will conduct interviews and streamline the content on the station.
