Baby Keem once almost executive produced a Lil Uzi Vert album, but other responsibilities got in the way of it happening.

In a new profile on the rapper published in The New York Times, it was revealed that a few years ago he almost headed up a project for Uzi, who Keem has often cited as being a key influence.

"Keem has a lot of relationships behind the scenes with artists," Dave Free, co-founder of Keem's label, pgLang, told the publication.

According to the NYT piece, Keem went through Uzi's hard drive while the rapper was asleep, picking out unreleased material to build a complete record around.

However, the project didn't end up coming to fruition because "the momentum flagged" when Keem left to go on tour with his cousin and frequent collaborator, Kendrick Lamar.

But for those who are sad that it didn't happen, there's some hope, as Keem revealed that it is something that he would still like to do if the opportunity presented itself.

As far as his own music goes, Baby Keem released his second album, Ca$ino, the follow-up to 2021's The Melodic Blue, back in February. Ca$ino went on to debut at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 albums chart and No. 1 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop albums chart.

Soon after its release, Keem dropped off the music video for "Good Flirts" featuring Kendrick Lamar and Momo Boyd.
