New Lil Uzi Vert music is imminent.
"The takeover is very soon," reads a message in Uzi’s new vlog titled "Core ( vlog / the process ) inspiration behind new song “Mephisto”/ I need more ♥︎"
The YouTube video begins with Uzi head to toe in Gucci, stacking money as they do an intimate interview describing their current creative headspace.
Uzi talks about watching the 1987 films Hellraiser and RoboCop, which inspired them to make the new track "Mephisto." The rapper also mentions that famed orchestral musician Larry Gold, who has worked with Lizzo, Erykah Badu, Bruno Mars, and Kanye West, handled the string sections on the track. "The strings, they’re from Larry Gold, and Larry is a good friend of mine. He’s from Philadelphia like me, put strings on some of the best music ever."
The string-heavy snippet began to play in the background. Additionally, the vlog showed clips of plaques from different hit songs they released over the years like "Futsal Shuffle," "Sanguine Paradise," and "That’s a Rack," potentially hinting at Uzi returning to an "older" sound many fans have been requesting for years.
Uzi then can be seen heading to the studio as a slowed-down version of the new snippet’s beat plays, paired with flash edits of what look like music video shots of Uzi on an ATV, at a photoshoot and skating around a skatepark as they say, "This time I gotta take over the world."
Lil Uzi Vert returned to social media at the end of 2025, dropping four singles "Chanel Boy," "Regular," "Relevant," and "What You Saying"—which remains at No. 32 on the Billboard Hot 100 as of writing, after peaking at No. 12.
Uzi is now one of just three artists, alongside Jay-Z and Rihanna, working with Roc Nation and signed to Roc Nation Distribution. According to a press release, Uzi will "fully own their masters" and has also signed a deal with Roc Nation Publishing.
Roc Nation Distribution President Krystian Santini said in a statement shared with Complex, "Uzi is a global icon and a dynamic force in the music industry, so we are thrilled to work together with them in this new capacity. Our partnership is centered around empowering Uzi to continue building their legacy, with full creative control and the resources to take their artistry to new heights." Uzi continues to promote the new imprint "Bienvenue á cor(e)" or "Welcome to cor(e) in French," with an accompanying website.
It seems Uzi’s new rollout is in full force, as they continue to tease fresh music, a record label, and a new era.
