Rihanna’s heartfelt conversation with a fan in 2024 resurfaced as her supporters celebrate her kindness.

At a Fenty Beauty pop-up event in Shanghai, China, Rihanna surprised fans not just by commemorating the moment, but also interacting with them.

In one particular interaction that’s made its way to Chinese social media site Rednote and X, Rihanna can be seen having a powerful conversation with a fan that gets so deep, she asks the fan to turn the camera off so she can continue helping her deal with her problems.

The video starts with a woman sitting next to Rihanna speaking to her about her life. “You are like a diamond shining in my life,” says the woman to the singer. “My family doesn’t like me. I don’t have friends.”

Rihanna, who makes it clear that she could have been a therapist if she wasn’t a successful singer, immediately empathizes with the fan as she talks. “That’s very lonely, that’s very heavy,” said the artist. ‘That’s more than anybody can endure. Even God made us miserable being alone.”

After the woman says she enjoys being by herself, Rihanna tries to explain to her why that is. “We sometimes get comfortable with that,” said the singer. “Because sometimes, we deny ourselves of the things we really want, because we want to feel comfortable and safe.”

Once the conversation concludes, Rihanna makes it clear that she has a lot more to explain to the fan. “So much to share with you, girl,” said Rihanna. “We really need to talk, so turn this off. No camera.”

In another resurfaced Rihanna moment, the singer reacted to an Instagram post a picture of her from an unflattering angle from a 2011 performance at the V festival. “How I catch this stray tho?” she asked in the comments of the post that suggested men like ‘candid or imperfect photos’ of their partners.
