Ray J is ready to hop back in the ring after getting the light in his eyes extinguished by Supa Hot Fire.

The singer (and now professional fighter) hopped on Instagram to reveal what’s next for him in his brawling career. “I had a perfect record 0-0-0- I took a L! Period!!” he wrote on Instagram in a caption. “Now I’m 0-1-0 - I’m training harder and I’m more focused!! JUST Signed the contract for the next fight August 23rd! THE BACK TO SCHOOL BRAWL.”

“I’m the headliner and I’m fighting at 215lbs for the light heavyweight title. And I got 3 months to train!!” he continued, before thanking his supporters for showing up for him.

No additional information was readily available about Ray J’s claim of a follow-up fight in August.

In the accompanying video, Ray J spoke about his experience with the fight and how he wants to come back after previously being “undefeated” — by which he means that he’d never fought at all.

“Every fighter has been through crazy shit,” he said. “At least, I have 5 to 10 more fights for me with the biggest fighters.”

Ray J continued on, adding that it was hard to accept his loss since he’d never lost a fight. But then, he shared an optimistic take, saying, “This was just a stepping stone in my fighting career.”

Ray J’s announcement comes days after he was knocked out to the point of seeing birds floating around his head on May 23. Ray J competed against Supa Hit Fire in a highly-hyped MMA fight at Adin Ross’ Brand Risk 14 event in Las Vegas.

Within 30 seconds of the second round, after Supa Hot Fire refused to engage with Ray J during the first round, the comedian landed some shots that sent Ray J into a slug-induced slumber in the ring.

After the match was over, Ray J confronted Supa Hot Fire, claiming that the two had a plan and that the knockout would cost them money.

Ross came out later saying that his team plans to investigate what happened inside the cage to uncover if there was some type of pre-existing agreement the fighters came to.

Two days after the match, Ray J checked himself into a hospital, and doctors were investigating a potential concussion and an abnormal heart rate.
