Meek Mill has announced his new social media platform of choice will be LinkedIn, after becoming disillusioned with X.
In perhaps what could be his last major X rant (and coming shortly after he agreed with the theory that “they’re speeding up the time”), the rapper expressed his frustration with the content he sees on the platform .
“My algorithm on X is all based on war politics…Muslim and Jewish hate,” wrote Mill. “It may have started when I first started watching bombings in Gaza. I got on this app to post music [and] connect with fans! And with deep fake this could make your mind sick if you see too much!”
That’s when Mill revealed that he’ll (most likely) be taking his talents to a social media platform that’s focused on getting people jobs instead of relaying news.
“I’ll be on LinkedIn or something because I don’t know what happened?” wrote the rapper. “We basically in a deep matrix trapped between instagram…x …tik tok…snap etc we have millions of fans we can’t even get real data on them that’s where the bots live free to control narrative.”
Mill then dropped the link to his newly-created LinkedIn profile.
That profile is already populated with a bio (“looking to build out and make business connections that’s aligned with meek mill, dream chasers & bikelife brand”) and a number of posts. In the first one, he says he’s “ready to transition into the business world and showcase my true potential.” In another, he shares that he’s "eager to attract banks to invest in my work.”
If there’s one thing that’ll be hard to believe, it’s that Mill could abandon X when he’s utilized the platform for huge moments over the years. His posts about buying vibrating panties and his insistence that “Yall do coke I don’t some gay I’m Not!” still live on years later.
In one of his more recent popular posts, the rapper addressed his viral bunny hop moment and alleged that critics just wanted to destroy his image. Back in February, he gave yet another explanation about the situation, pushing back the claims that he was pressured into hopping around by billionaire businessman Michael Rubin.
“They clipped me doing bunny hops and acted as if a billionaire made me do something against [my] moral codes from a lost bet,” he wrote. “That was a ‘clip’ I b[r]ought them billionaires around the culture where millions was made in the rap industry[.] many artist that's [in] the clip!”
“They do it for your future consumer like Gen Z… they didn’t grow up on one so they wouldn’t know the difference so you won’t keep gaining influence!” added Mill in a follow-up post.
