Meek Mill is once again speaking out about the viral clip showing him doing bunny hops, pushing back on claims that he was pressured into the moment by billionaire businessman Michael Rubin.

The Philadelphia rapper took to X to clarify the situation after the years-old video once again resurfaced online and sparked renewed criticism. In his post, Meek argued that the moment — him doing bunny hops after losing a tennis match to Rubin — was taken out of context and framed in a misleading way.

“They clipped me doing bunny hops and acted as if a billionaire made me do something against [my] moral codes from a lost bet,” he wrote. “That was a ‘clip’ I b[r]ought them billionaires around the culture where millions was made in the rap industry[.] many artist that's [in] the clip!”

Meek also suggested the video was being used to shape how younger audiences perceive him, adding, “They do it for your future consumer like Gen Z… they didn’t grow up on one so they wouldn’t know the difference so you won’t keep gaining influence!”

The clip in question dates back to 2021 and shows Meek hopping across a tennis court after losing a friendly match to Rubin. At the time, the moment quickly spread across social media, with some fans interpreting it as harmless fun, while others viewed it more critically.

Meek has repeatedly defended the moment over the years, explaining that bunny hops were part of a game he and others played long before his rise to fame. According to him, the activity was something he introduced into his circle, and was never meant to be seen as humiliating.

"We used to make killers do bunny hops when they loss because it was too hostile for money," he explained in 2024.

Despite the backlash, Meek has often tried to downplay the controversy, even joking in past posts about making Rubin do the same if he ever won.
