JT the Bigga Figga has revealed more about his current (lack of) relationship with The Game after playing a key role in his early career.
During an appearance on Holdin Court, JT was asked about his connection to the Compton star. JT founded Get Low Recordz in 1991, which signed the Game in the early 2000s before he blew up. However, once The Game signed to Aftermath Records, their relationship soured and, according to JT, the rapper’s been trying to erase what he did for his career.
“He gives me a shoutout here and there,” said JT in the clip of the interview below. “If you notice, it’s standoffish whenever my name comes up.”
JT then claimed that he not only supported the Game’s early career — he also played an integral part in getting the rapper a deal with Aftermath Records.
“I went to Dr. Dre and them’s office on his 40th birthday, and I brought the masters, the contract, and the video footage of what I did with The Game,” JT said.
Elsewhere in the conversation, JT spoke about releasing The Game’s old music around the time that he released The Documentary on Aftermath Records and became a household name. The mogul revealed that he was satisfied with the earnings he received from the releases — even if he could have gotten more.
“We sold a shit load of records,” JT claimed. “I’d just spent $12,000 investing in this dude, and I’m cool with making $200,000 to $400,000. I might have missed $5 million, but I didn’t want to get caught in any lawsuits or some shit.”
In 2006, Koch Entertainment released a series of albums and a DVD of The Game’s circa-2001 songs done under JT’s purview that did in fact lead to a lawsuit.
JT previously spoke about The Game attempting to erase him from his career in a 2023 interview on No Jumper.
“The same way he did to me, was the same way he tried to do to 50 Cent,” JT said at the time.
