Cardi B has revealed who she’s looking to compete with when it comes to ticket sales.
The rapper hopped on X spaces amidst claims from Nicki Minaj fans that her Little Miss Drama tour didn’t sell as much as Nicki Minaj’s Pink Friday 2 tour. Without saying Nicki’s name, Cardi brought up the fact that people are comparing her to certain artists while she’s looking at others for inspiration.
“I want to do numbers like Bad Bunny,” Cardi said. “This motherfucker is selling out shows with 90,000 people. That’s my goal. Y’all thinking too small.”
As to why that hasn’t happened yet, Cardi got very candid about the fact that she hasn’t released enough music to make that happen.
“I’m on some shit that’s like…I want to do more. I feel like I deserve to do more. And the reason I’m not doing more is because I’m not doing enough,” she admitted. “I gotta put in the work.”
“I want to make 14 million in two shows,” she concluded. “I want to be able to say I sold out a stadium of 90 thousand people.”
Cardi’s Little Miss Drama tour wrapped up on Apr. 18, with Missy Elliott being a surprise guest at the final show at Atlanta’s State Farm Arena. The fact that the show even happened was a miracle due to Cardi nearly cancelling it after getting into a heated confrontation with the venue’s employees.
Cardi had called them “disrespectful” and “fucking rude for no reason” on Instagram Live.
For now, it seems like Cardi’s tour is over — even if she hinted at a European leg of the tour last month.
During an Instagram Live, Cardi let it be known that she’s gearing up to have fun now that the tour has wrapped. “I am feeling very emotional about [the end of the tour]. I kind of want it to be over because I'm a little tired but then it's like, ‘Whoa, what do I do now?’” she said. “I'm going to take a really, really short break. I don't even think I'm even going on a vacation. I don't even know what I'm going to do. I do want to be outside though, I got to live a little bit. I've been pregnant for two summers straight. So I have to have a little fun.”
