Cameron Brink shared that a “highlight of her life” came when someone approached her alleging to be from Kendrick Lamar’s team and gave her praise.

On the Straight to Cam podcast, Brink reflected shared the hilarious story of when she was asked in a Complex video whether she supported Kendrick Lamar or Drake.

"When the [WNBA] draft was going on, we were doing questions on the orange carpet. The question was: Kendrick or Drake?" the Los Angeles Sparks forward said. "And everyone chose Drake, and I was the only one that chose Kendrick."

After the clip was released, Lamar apparently saw the clip—and what happened later is something that Brink will never forget.

“Fast forward to USC [vs.] Notre Dame women's basketball game a while ago, a guy came up to me with his super cute daughter. He was like 'I work with Kendrick, and he noticed that you were the only person who said him,’” Brink said. “‘And he fucks with you, he says, 'You're LA.' I was like 'Really!?' I was like 'I love you, Kendrick.’”

Brink then agreed to send the rapper a video pleading her loyalty. "So then he was like, 'I'll take a video and I'll send it to him.' And in the video ... I was like, 'I love you, Kendrick!'" Brink said. "Maybe he was lying, I don't know. But I think he knows who I am, and that was a highlight of my life."

A few days ago on Richer Lives by SoFi, Brink expressed gratitude for her WNBA salary despite the criticism that WNBA players aren’t getting paid enough.

"My mom was the first to go to college in her family,” said Brink. “My grandma worked three jobs as a single mom. I do not take that money for granted. That is good money. That is a salary that we work very hard for."

Brink said, however, that it “would be nice” to see WNBA paychecks get bigger.
