50 Cent is producing a podcast hosted by Jadakiss that will tell DMX’s story.
Deadline reports that Fif is partnering with Narratively on the new podcast called Look Thru My Eyes: Becoming DMX. It will be produced in partnership with iHeartPodcasts as well.
Jadakiss has been announced to host the podcast that will initially start with DMX, but is planned to extend to other artists’ origin stories in subsequent seasons.
“DMX’s story is bigger than the music — it’s about survival, faith, pain, and purpose,” said Fif, according to Deadline. “Look Thru My Eyes: Becoming DMX gives people a chance to understand where X came from, before the fame, through the voices of the people who were really there. This is the story that shaped the legend.”
Also speaking about the podcast are Bruce Miller and Justin Baez — two executive producers from Yonkers (where DMX was from).
“DMX’s story is inseparable from Yonkers, and his legacy is the lifeblood of hip hop,” Miller said.
Fif’s new podcast comes on the heels of his success with the Diddy documentary Sean Combs: The Reckoning on Netflix. During its opening week, Fif’s doc amassed 21.8 million views in six days, which was right behind the final season of Stranger Things with 23.6 million.
In celebrating its success, Fif shared a post on Instagram that made a joke about Netflix spending hundreds of millions of dollars on Stranger Things for it to be barely more successful than Sean Combs: The Reckoning.
