Xzibit is getting existential.
In a post shared to the once-great platform formerly known as Twitter on Thursday (March 26), the Kingmaker artist pondered the likelihood of one day dying “alone.” Per the post, however, he’s made peace with this.
“I’m probably, more than likely, going to die alone,” the post reads. “And I’m ok with that.”
Kenneth Blume, previously known under the Kenny Beats moniker, was quick to respond with a Pimp My Ride-referencing joke. X, of course, was the host of the mid-2000s MTV hit series, which focused on subpar vehicles being dramatically refurbished.
X, it seems, has a tendency to share posts that often sound like uncredited or anonymous quotes, ranging from vaguely inspirational to quasi-philosophical. The exact impetus for the “die alone” post wasn’t immediately clear, but it’s not a unique sentiment. Mad Men character Don Draper, for example, expressed a similar attitude in the classic AMC drama.
To his credit, X is an accomplished storyteller. Last year, he made headlines for recounting a less-than-ideal experience he had with shrooms.
“I thought it was microdosing, right?” X, whose aversion to tripping on shrooms was previously detailed in his 1998 song “Shroomz,” said on the Dope as Usual podcast at the time. “So I’m feeling great.”
According to X, however, this feeling didn’t last, and eventually led to him causing thousands of dollars of damage to a hotel room.
Kingmaker, X’s most recent studio album, arrived in 2025, notably coming nearly 13 years after its predecessor, Napalm. Dr. Dre, Ty Dolla Sign, Guapdad 4000, and more were all recruited for the 20-track project.
