Cristiano Ronaldo rang in his 40th birthday with a little help from Rauw Alejandro.
Photos showed the two mid-celebration in Saudi Arabia, while footage from the proceedings showed Alejandro on the mic, candles and cake fittingly nearby as fellow partiers could be seen dancing along.
“Thank you all for the amazing birthday messages,” Ronaldo, who recently scored his 924th career goal, told fans earlier this week. “Had a great day with family and friends. Couldn’t wish for anything better.”
Alejandro also gave Ronaldo a birthday shoutout on Instagram, letting fans know that he’s benefitted from “many years learning from” the revered footballer.
Ronaldo tapped into some vulnerability of his own on Thursday, highlighting the “incredible career” of Marcelo, who recently retired from the sport.
“We’ve lived a lot together,” Ronaldo said in an IG tribute highlighting his fellow star’s legacy. “It’s been years of achievements, victories, and unforgettable moments.”
As Ronaldo put it, he sees Marcelo not as merely a teammate, but instead a “partner for life.”
Next for Alejandro after helping Ronaldo ring in his 40th year on Earth is the launch of his world tour, which kicks off with a show at the Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle on April 5. The Cosa Nuestra artist is also bringing the tour to San Francisco, Denver, Inglewood, Chicago, Brooklyn, and more.
With Cosa Nuestra, Alejandro's fifth studio album, the Puerto Rican singer and rapper earned his highest Billboard 200 chart debut yet, ultimately coming in at No. 6 in its release week.
