Lil Troy Lets Fans Know He’s 'Feeling Good,' Set to Start 'New Life' After Reported Heart Attack

Lil Troy wants fans to know he’s “feeling good” after a reported heart attack.

At the top of the week, Willie D of Geto Boys, who, like Troy, calls Houston his hometown, shared an Instagram update in which he said that his fellow Texan was “fighting for his life” after suffering a heart attack. Initially, information on the health incident was scarce, though Troy has since been quoted in a new report from AllHipHop as saying that he ’s “feeling bless[ed]” and looking forward to starting a fresh chapter.

“I’m good, feeling good, and ready to get back to being Superman,” Troy, 58, said in a text to Van Silk, per Kyle Eustice. In the same conversation, Troy stated that he was going to “start a new life of [eating] right” while also making regular visits to the doctor and taking medications as prescribed.

Troy also pointed to plans he has to turn his experience into a potential teaching moment for others when it comes to health-related maintenance, telling the publication that he’s “going to start speaking about taking our meds and going to the doctor and heart attacks.”

Most known for the 1998 hit “Wanna Be a Baller,” Troy has since moved into the world of trucking with his own company, Birklett Trucking. In 2021, Troy made headlines after detailing his handling of an on-the-road incident in which the truck he was driving suddenly burst into flames.

In May, Troy commemorated the 25th anniversary of the official re-release of his “Wanna Be a Baller”-featuring debut album, Sittin’ Fat Down South, on Instagram. Notably, multiple artists connected with the hit song—including Fat Pat, Lil Will, Big T, and H.A.W.K.—are no longer with us.
