Kid Cudi on What to Expect From Rebel Ragers Tour Setlist: 'No Way I Can Do Every Banger I Have'

"I have 13 albums and only a certain amount of time in the show," Cudi told fans.

Kid Cudi kicked off his Rebel Ragers tour in Phoenix, Arizona this week with an expansive 30-song performance featuring everything from his diamond-certified breakout hit “Day 'n' Nite” to last year’s Free single “Mr. Miracle.” Now, as the tour continues, Cudi is letting fans know that “every banger” in his catalog can’t possibly fit into the setlist.

As we previously reported, Cudi’s tour, which comes ahead of the release of his feature-length directorial debut Doe, will see him hitting 33 total cities. Serving as special guests on the headlining run are M.I.A., Big Boi, and more.

“For people asking me to perform certain songs, I have 13 albums and only a certain amount of time in the show,” Cudi told fans in an X post shared on Wednesday (April 29). “There’s no way I can do every banger I have in the set. Some of ur faves just aren’t gonna be in the show, but come enjoy the set I curated and just have a good time. It’s filled [with] jams EVERYONE loves!”

In another X post, Cudi offered advice for fans planning to make it out to a stop on the tour, including encouragement to “leave all stresses and worries outside” and clarification on the intended “mantra” of this particular run.

“RAGE, RELEASE, AND BE FREE,” the Knuckles actor said. “Put on ur best fit, bring ur tree, get something to sip, and let’s get lit in this bitch.”

The Rebel Ragers tour continues tonight (April 29) in Albuquerque. Fans in Austin, Birmingham, Atlanta, Cincinnati, New York, and elsewhere will also get their shot at catching the show in the months ahead.

Before we wrap up, I have a bone in need of picking: Unfortunately, in the wake of this piece on Cudi’s “Reborn” dedication to the artist formerly known as Kanye West at Tuesday night’s tour opener, some fans have pushed the narrative that our coverage on Cudi has been lacking as of late. This is simply not true.

At the top of the year, we covered the announcement of Cudi’s Rebel Ragers tour, as seen here. This was followed by pieces on the launch of Cudi’s Twitch channel, his recently released EP, his Big Bro podcast series (which most recently welcomed Adam Scott as a guest), a screening of the aforementioned Doe, and more.

In short, don’t get it twisted. For me personally, Cudi has been a life-saving presence in my work as a writer, and I look forward to that influence continuing in the years ahead.
