Kehlani, fresh off taking home two Grammys and sitting down for an interview with Complex’s Jillian Superstar, is back with a new album.

Featured on the self-titled affair is “Folded,” which last year became the artist’s first-ever top 10 hit on the Hot 100 chart. The development of that track, as Kehlani recently explained to Complex, proved instrumental in a period of artistic growth reflected on the new album.

“I was like, ‘Oh, something’s happening—esoterically, energetically—in my life right now,’” the singer recalled. “I’m fully aware that something is happening. I need to follow and let whatever this energy is just carry me and surrender to it and not be scared of it, and here we are.”

As the album landed on streaming services, Kehlani urged fans to “enjoy it, live in it, [and] love through it” in a note shared to Instagram.

Recruited for Kehlani’s latest are Lil Wayne, Clipse, Brandy, Missy Elliott, Usher, T-Pain, Lil Jon, Cardi B, Big Sean, and Leon Thomas. Listen here via Apple Music, Spotify, etc.

Elsewhere in her recent Complex interview, Kehlani also looked back on how impactful Nick Cannon’s early support was for her journey as an artist, calling him a “great guy.” In fact, according to her, there are actually multiple artists who have similar stories about the Wild ’n Out creator and All That alum.

“They’ll reach out to me and be like ‘You know Nick did the same thing for me,’ and I’m like, what?” Kehlani said.
