Per Australia’s Home Affairs Minister, Tony Burke, Ye “no longer has a valid visa in Australia.” According to a report from the Associated Press, itself citing an Australian Broadcasting Corp. interview, the official’s office took another look at Ye’s prior remarks following the release of the 24-time Grammy winner’s “Heil Hitler” track. The song in question was ultimately, seemingly, amended.
“We have enough problems in this country already without deliberately importing bigotry,” Burke was reported to have said.
As pointed out in this CBS News piece, this development does not mean that Ye has been permanently banned from Australia.
Did Kanye West apologize?
In May, Ye claimed in an X update that he was “done with antisemitism.” He also asked for forgiveness for “the pain I’ve caused,” citing a conversation with his children as instrumental in his rekindled desire to “save the world again.” However, this statement has been called into question in the weeks since.
Has Kanye West responded to the news out of Australia?
