Speculation is rampant following Ice Spice’s timely sharing of a new snippet, with some fans swiftly assuming key lyrics from the track are aimed at Cardi B.

In the teased track, tentatively titled “Pretty Privilege,” Spice raps about someone who “might talk shit on the ‘gram” but “won’t talk it to my face.” The Highest 2 Lowest cast member also calls out an unnamed poser (“She hear my song and copy everything I say”) before declaring “these bitches dirt.”

The clip closes with a nod to Spice’s publicity team, like so:

“PR said no clapping back”

Given the teaser’s proximity to alleged leaked audio of a phone call between Spice’s manager and Cardi, these lyrics were quick to be connected to the ensuing chatter. In a statement addressing the surfacing of the audio in question, Cardi told fans she was “ranting and hot” at the time. She also called for the full audio to be released, claiming it spans 11 minutes in length.

Past tracks from both artists, namely Spice’s “BB Belt” and Cardi’s Am I the Drama? track “Magnet,” have also contributed to the speculation.

Still, a potentially more likely target of Spice’s lyrics, as other fans have pointed out, is “No Waist” artist Stunna Sandy.

A line from the first verse of Spice’s recently released “Baddie Baddie,” which samples M.I.A.’s “Bad Girls,” has also been interpreted by some as a possible Sandy dig. In the track, Spice raps, “I know that she wanna be me/But she is not doing it well.”

As of this writing, neither Cardi nor Sandy had publicly addressed specific lyrical content of Spice’s new snippet. Cardi, however, did appear to describe the teaser as “a trash ass clip” in an X update on Tuesday, Sept. 30.
