50 Cent, whose dedication to public mockery is well-documented, was especially active on Instagram in the wake of BMF’s cancelation this week. Just don’t call him a troll.

The series, co-produced under 50’s G-Unit banner, saw Demetrius Flenory Jr., a.k.a. Lil Meech, portraying his father, Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory. It kicked off on Starz back in 2021, ultimately running for four seasons. 50 has since teased that a spinoff could be on the horizon.

Following the news, Lil Meech became the subject of multiple instances of Fif-delivered mockery on IG, including one featuring an edited image depicting the 25-year-old actor and rapper holding a sign that read “OUT OF WORK.”

Ensuing headlines, including this one, billed this latest act of Instagrammery from 50 as a clear example of trolling. Fif himself, however, has since jokingly expressed that this description is “very troubling” to him.

“The fact that TMZ is calling me a troll is very troubling to me,” the Street Fighter actor and recent Complex interviewee wrote in an IG update shared on Wednesday, Oct. 29. “I have worked tirelessly to build my brand and I’m now being reduced to nothing more than a troll.”

Whether joking or not, 50 is a fan of other artists’ own moments of trolling and trolling-adjacent behavior. Just this month, for example, he went public with his approval of Nicki Minaj amid the Pink Friday 2 artist’s trolling of Jay-Z, telling fans “I like when she get mad.”
